What Poland buys from Vietnam
Official EU customs statistics, put in one table: which food products from Vietnam Polish importers already buy, how much, and what is growing. Updated when Eurostat publishes new data.
What the numbers say
- Coffee extracts and instant coffee grew from €14.6 million in 2021 to €82.7 million in 2025, almost six times more.
- Pasta and noodles grew from €2.1 million to €30.7 million in four years.
- Cashews and coconuts reached €25.6 million in 2025, the highest in five years. Pepper grew every year since 2023.
- Fish fillets fell from a peak of €27.6 million in 2023 to €15.5 million in 2025: a gap for new suppliers or a warning about competition. Check the reasons before you price.
- The EU–Vietnam trade agreement is in force: EU duties on Vietnamese goods are being cut in stages, many already to zero.

What this means for your shipment
Most problems are pesticide residues in fruit, vegetables and spices, and veterinary drug residues in fish and shrimp. Test each lot against EU maximum residue limits before shipping, in a lab the buyer accepts.
Trade: Eurostat Comext, dataset DS-045409 (EU trade since 1988 by HS2-4-6 and CN8), Poland as reporter, imports, value in euros, annual. Country = country of origin. Retrieved 2026-10-27. Eurostat database. Goods cleared through customs in another EU country and then shipped to Poland count as that country’s trade, so real use in Poland is higher. Change compares 2025 with the first year above €100,000.
Border alerts: RASFF Window (European Commission), food notifications by country of origin, compiled by RASFF Trends (rasff.fruit-risk.com), licence CC BY 4.0. Retrieved 2026-10-27. RASFF Trends. Counts depend on how actively each EU country checks, so read them next to trade volumes.
