The importer notifies the regional IJHARS office (form SWW05, also online through PUESC). IJHARS checks documents, labelling and packaging and may take samples; there is no fee unless the product fails.
Sanepid: food safety
Not on the listHeading 1704 is not on the list for border sanitary control. Sanepid can still check the product on the market or at the border if there is a suspicion.
Veterinary inspection
Depends on the recipeOnly if the recipe contains milk, butter, egg or other animal ingredients (composite product). Most shelf-stable sweets with processed dairy need only a private attestation from the importer; some are exempt from border checks since 23 July 2026.
